Hi, my name is Amanda Castaneda.
I am a mother, wife and a full time employee. The most important quality to remember about me is I am the face of your generous plasma donations.
In 2015 after a ten year long journey with multiple surgeries I finally received a diagnosis of Hereditary Angioedema. Hereditary Angioedema is a rare genetic disorder which causes my body to randomly swell and has the potential to be life threatening. My body does not produce enough of C1-Inhibitor which is found in the bloodstream. Every third day I infuse through my medi-port a medication created from your plasma donation.
Please know when you sit in this chair and donate plasma— you’re giving people like me a fighting chance to live life.
