Ileana Carlisle, Chief Executive Officer
Ileana Carlisle’s career in the plasma products and biologics industry spans over 30 years. Prior to her recent promotion to CEO, Ms. Carlisle served in the role of Vice President of Plasma Operations since Biotest Pharmaceuticals Corporation began in 2007. Warehouse, distribution and logistics operations for the company were added to Ms. Carlisle’s scope in 2014. In late 2015, Ms. Carlisle was given additional responsibilities for BPC’s regulatory functions. Prior to Biotest, Ms. Carlisle worked for Nabi Biopharmaceuticals in diverse roles of increasing leadership responsibility which included plasma and laboratory operations, quality, sales and customer service, distribution and product management. Ms. Carlisle attended Florida International University where she earned a bachelor’s degree in biological sciences and a master’s degree in international business.
Donna Quinn, Vice President, Legal
Donna Quinn brings to the company over 25 years of legal expertise. In addition to serving as General Counsel for Biotest Pharmaceuticals, Ms. Quinn also serves as Healthcare Compliance Officer and Corporate Secretary. Prior to joining BPC, Ms. Quinn served as Deputy General Counsel for Nabi Biopharmaceuticals and General Counsel for both ACA Financial and Imaging Diagnostic Systems. She previously worked for the State of New York’s Specials Funds Conservation Committee as well as for various law firms as a litigation attorney. Ms. Quinn received her bachelor’s degree in political science and psychology from Syracuse University and a juris doctorate degree from Suffolk University Law School. She is admitted to practice law in Florida, New York, and Massachusetts.
Debra Kezar-Woodbury, Head of Sales, Customer Operations and Distribution
Debra Kezar-Woodbury brings over 25 years of plasma products and biologics knowledge to BPC in the areas of sales, customer service, marketing, management and distribution. In 2016, Ms. Kezar-Woodbury was appointed Head of Sales, Customer Operation and Distribution after serving five years with Biotest, most recently as Director of Plasma Sales, Customer Operations and Distribution. Ms. Kezar-Woodbury holds a bachelor’s degree in management and a master’s degree from Plymouth State University in business administration with an emphasis in marketing.
Ben Foulk, Vice President, Human Resources
Ben Foulk joined Biotest in May 2016. Prior to joining Biotest, Mr. Foulk held HR leadership roles at Platform Specialty Products, a specialty chemical company; Boehringer Ingelheim, a privately-held pharmaceuticals company; and General Electric, where he began his career in 1996 on the GE HR leadership program. In addition to his HR background, Mr. Foulk brings with him a wealth of global experience having lived for a number of years in Italy, Japan and Germany. Mr. Foulk received both his Master of Organizational Behavior degree and a Bachelor of Psychology degree from Brigham Young University.
Awilda Orta-Gerber, Head of Quality Operations and Regulatory Affairs
Awilda Orta-Gerber joined Biotest in March 2016. Ms. Orta-Gerber has over 25 years of experience in quality assurance, regulatory compliance and training. Her work experience expands several GMP manufacturing industries, including medical devices (in vitro diagnostic), pharmaceuticals, and biologics. Prior to joining Biotest, Ms. Orta-Gerber held leadership roles for several industry leaders like Johnson & Johnson, Aveva Drug Delivery Systems and OneBlood, Inc. Ms. Orta-Gerber received a B.S degree in Medical Technology from Marquette University and has a Masters in Business Administrator. She also holds an SBB, RAC and Lean/Six Sigma Certifications.
Lluis Florido Sr., Director, IT
Lluis started his career in the IT operations team at Grifols in 1998 as a night operator to support the SAP system. In 2003, Lluis was promoted to SAP Project Manager as part of the IT integration team supporting Grifols continuous growth. Lluis continued to assume roles of increasing responsibility in IT. One such position was as Business Applications Director, when he was responsible for all the infrastructure for all the Grifols Corporate Applications, with responsibilities in SAP, databases, and the main applications for all Plasma systems.
In 2006 he led the hosting project for DMS for Biomat USA. Working with Plasma applications, he was responsible for several projects, one of the most important of these projects was Grifols GDS (Grifols Donation System), where he was one of the designers for the infrastructure and database of that system.
Given the growth of the plasma business in the US for Grifols in recent years, Lluis relocated to Raleigh, NC, in 2016 as the IT Infrastructure Senior Director. In this role he was responsible for all the Plasma applications projects, maintenance, and support. In March 2019 he relocated to BPC and quickly joined the IT and NextGen teams in the roll-out of Norcross and Marietta. Lluis will join the EC team and is poised and ready to learn more about BPC’s systems. He is offering all his knowledge and experience of IT and Grifols to the BPC family and his total commitment to work hard to continue growing BPC.
Lluis was born in Blanes, Spain, about 30 miles north of Barcelona. He has a Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology.
